Lincoln City's primary economic resources are tourism and retirement. Tourism is the mainstay of Lincoln City's industry. The residents and visitors, who populate Lincoln City, enjoy fine restaurants, unique gift shops, Art galleries, clothing stores, and Factory Outlet retail shops. Housing can range from $50,000 to $500,000. In 1994 the average housing cost was $130,000 and the average rent is $500.00.

• Climate

Lincoln City enjoys a mild coastal climate. The average winter temperature is 50 deg.F dropping to the mid 30’s at night. A typical summer will bring temperatures from 80-90º degrees inland to a windy 60-70 deg.F on the beach. The annual rainfall averages 71.8 inches. Lincoln City has crisp clean air and with the northwest winds in the summer and southwest winds in the winter.

• Population

As of 1994, Lincoln City’s permanent population, was 6,335. In the summer months the population easily climbs to over 30,000 people, with visitors from all over the world who are attracted to our coastal city and ocean beaches. Most of the population is over the age of 55.

• Location

Lincoln City, a resort community on the Central Oregon Coast, is located on the 45th parallel and situated 11 feet above sea level. Bordered by the coast range to the east and the Pacific Ocean on the west. Devils Lake is the recreational centerpiece of the town, but the 3 rivers and bay provide a wealth of recreational opportunities as well.

Lincoln City has 7 1/2 miles of beautiful, clean, public beaches. Lincoln City is about a two hour drive from Portland and one hour from Salem, Oregon’s capital city.
